Why is Nutrition so complicated...?

The answer... It's not!

We, us, humans complicate it! Nutrition can be as basic / easy as you like or as complicated / hard to follow as you like...

There is so much confusion and conflicting information out there nowadays that people don't know where to turn or what to do. Here's some examples;

  • Don't eat carbs after 6pm.
  • Eat all the carbs after 6pm.
  • Don't have dairy.
  • No fat diet.
  • Eat 8 times a day.
  • Eat 2 hours before you train.
  • Juicing is the way forward.
  • Take these magic pills and all your nutritional problems will go away.
  • Supplement with this.
  • Don't eat that.
  • Eat this, eat that.....

The list could go on and on and ON!!

There are soooo many fad diets and trends out there now but none of them will get you LONG LASTING RESULTS.

Whatever way or kind of nutritional plan you implement into your day to day living must be two things;

1. Provide appropriate Nutritional Value.

2. Be sustainable.

Is following a no carb diet sustainable? No... Why? Because carbs are yummy!

Is following a no fat diet sustainable? No... Why? Because fats are yummy! And our bodies also needs fats!

Can you fit 8 meals in during the day? Maybe.. Some may, some may not...

What can you fit in? 3 large main meals? Perfect!

Or maybe 3 moderate size meals and 2 snacks? Perfect!

It's what works for you and your lifestyle!

I've got girls who can only fit in 3 meals a day.. No problem! I've also got girls who can fit in 5 meals a day.. No problem!

If you can't adhere to a plan or a fad or a trend then it is not SUSTAINABLE.

If your goal is weight loss you will achieve results by following the calories in V calories out rule which basically means, if you want to lose weight than you must expend more energy than what you are consuming.

You don't need fat burners. You don't need magic pills. You don't need the juice diet. You don't need the shake diet.

You need real food! Real food with appropriate nutritional value. You also need treats! Yes, treats! This makes everything sustainable!

I believe everything in moderation!

What I don't believe in is having KFC for lunch every day, Donut for Dinner every day and Ice Cream for breakfast every day. Why? Where's the nutritional value?

I'm a lover of real food but I'm also a lover of a good burger and ice cream every now and then. Doesn't mean I have them every day!

Our outlook on Nutrition is hugely important! We must look to food as fuel! How it helps us perform during exercise, how it makes us feel during the day, how it effects our body composition!

Eat well, feel good! It's that simple.....
