Doing it, even when you don't want too...
There's no denying we all have those days where we don't want to do certain things - clean the house, cook the dinner, prep meals, go to work, go training.. The list could go on!
So what drives me to do it even when I don't want too?
My attitude to doing certain things and to life has changed over the last few years and months.
I do most things with intention. I train with intention - to be fitter, stronger. I prep my meals with intention - for health and body fuel. I go to work because I love it.
But, there is days when I don't want to train. Days when I don't want to meal prep or cook.
How do I deal with those days? What are my motivators?
My main motivator is not wanting to ever going back to the times when I felt shitty about myself. Lethargic, unfit, unhealthy, unhappy, unmotivated.
The truth is, I am my own motivator.
I only ever want to move forward. I want to better myself and be my own competitor (as cliche as that sounds, it's the truth).
So, on those days when I don't want to drag my ass to the gym, I ask myself 'who are you really cheating here?' And the answer is myself..
Yes, of course, there is the occasional day when I do skip training if I am genuinely feeling exhausted or I've had a big week of training / work. Those days are different. There is a big difference between genuinely needing a day off and just being down right lazy.
I don't fool or kid myself anymore. If we want to be better in this life then we best push through!
It's the same with cooking or meal prep. What's the easiest thing to do? Call in a takeaway or order a delivery. It's so easy nowadays, we can do it from the comfort of our own home with Uber Eats, Dominos Delivery and even McDonalds Delivery.
Quick order and it'll be at your door in 30 mins! We tell ourselves 'Ah, it'd take me longer to cook and clean...' Bla, bla, bla..
When in reality, we're being lazy!
What must we do? Get up off our asses and cook ourselves a wholesome, nutritious, home cooked meal! Trust me, you can cook and clean a decent meal or 4 in 30mins (refer to todays Snapchat lisabfithealthy).
It boils back down too - Doing it, Even when you don't want too..
If it's important to you, you will make it work.. If it's not, you won't. You will make every excuse under the sun as to why it's easier to order a take away or why you deserve 5 rest days from training.
So, today or tomorrow or next week when you don't want to train or you don't want to cook a decent meal think of me and this blog post and just DO IT, EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TOO...
I guarantee you, you will feel the better of it! BE YOUR OWN MOTIVATOR - EACH AND EVERY DAY!
