The Fear....

Have you been there?

We fear failure, judgment, what other's speak of us.. The list could go on.

BUT, the three I mentioned above - failure, judgement and what others speak of us are three things I've dealt with.

1. Failure

I cannot possibly change careers and move to a completely different industry, it will be a disaster for me. FEAR. I won't succeed. FEAR.

2. Judgement

No, I don't want to post those images of me in the gym. I can't share that on Social Media. I can't say that out loud. What would they all think? FEAR.

3. What others speak of us

But what will they all say if they see me doing this now? They'll think I'm stupid. FEAR.

And this is the total reality of it!

I'm a normal person too and have dealt with all of those thoughts and emotions. Although, I am now a lot better at managing my fear than what I would of been a few months or years ago.

So, how did I deal with?

I just sucked it up.

If I fail, I will learn from it. Failure is a learning curve, not something to be feared.

If they judge me negatively, that is their opinion. Opinions are like a*sholes, everyone has one (thanks for the one Ross haha). They most likely don't know me Personally or Professionally. Their judgement is invalid.

Their words mean nothing. They are only words. They are not prominent figures in my life or career. They don't know me, I don't know them. Unless their words are positive or constructive they should and will not impact who and what I am.

It's all mindset.

Someone said to me recently, 'the brain is like a muscle, it too should be trained'! How true?! We have been thought to feel and think a certain way since we were children. Our education, social media, television, who we surround ourselves with. Some are fortunate enough to be surrounded by nothing but positivity, others not so fortunate.

We must train ourselves and our mindset to banish any thoughts of fear.

Mindset is what see's some of the most successful people in the world succeed.

Think like a Queen. A Queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.

I’ve failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.

Fear is the one thing that holds most of us back from realising and utilising our full potential. There are people out there stuck in jobs and relationships that don't make them happy because they are fearful of leaving.

People currently in Uni or College studying and putting endless hours into something they get no satisfaction from. Why? Why are you doing that to yourself?

There are people out there dreaming of getting fit and healthy. Dreaming of shredding some weight so they can regain that confidence that they are lacking. Dreaming of getting healthy again but doing nothing about it because they have the fear of not succeeding!

Remember, anything you want that’s valuable requires that you break through some short-term pain in order to gain long term pleasure. If you want a great body, you’ve got to sculpt that body, which requires breaking through short-term pain. Once you’ve done it enough times, working out becomes pleasurable. Dieting works the same way. Any type of discipline requires breaking through pain: discipline in business, relationships, personal confidence, fitness and finances. How do you break through the discomfort and create momentum to really accomplish your aims? Start by making the decision to overcome it...
— Extract from Tony Robbins, Awaken the Giant Within

You can overcome almost anything in life, fear included.

Sit down, write down sometimes you fear and deal with it.

Don't let it hold you back.

Would you like to change careers? Make small steps towards achieving that goal. Don't fear it.

Would you like to get fitter? Shred some weight? Do it! Do you have a trainer? Get one! Invest in yourself! Don't fear it.

The list could go on. We all fear differently. It's how we deal with it that is most important..

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start getting excited about what could go RIGHT
— Tony Robbins
