My Top 10 Pantry Must Haves!

Happy Friday!! :)

Today, I wanted to share some of my Top Pantry Must Haves!!

These are just a few I have put together.. Things I grab when on the run, for convenience or when I want something a little sweet ;)

1. Protein Powder: I am currently using True Protein and I really like it! The ingredients are quite good and it tastes good too. I use it to mix it with my oats in the morning and then just as a shake sometimes later in the day.

2. Oats: Who doesn't have oats in their kitchen pantry or cupboard?! :) I LOVE oats!! I am back having oats more regularly in the mornings now as it's a little cooler here in Brisbane now that Summer is over. Weetbix (which are also a great pantry must have) had been my go too for the last few weeks but back on the big bowl of oats again. A great source for brekkie!

3. Tinned Beans, Sweet Corn, Beetroot, Tomatoes: Much convenience! As I am reducing my meat intake lately beans such as chilli beans, black beans and chick peas have been some of my go too! Also find tinned beetroot and sweet corn so handy to add to salads. Tinned tomatoes are super convenient also to add to stir fry and lots of other dishes and meals.

4. Uncle Ben's Mexican Style Rice: Now, this is a very recent addition to my cupboard! I seen them on special lately in my local Supermarket so I got them to try out and now I'm hooked!! I've been adding them into 'Mexican Style Bowls' and Egg Fried Rice.  The rice is really, really tasty! Convenience!

5. Peanut Butter: I am never without Peanut Butter.. Absolutely LOVE it! Used daily in my house on my Rice Cakes for my morning snack. Delicious! And, sometimes, a cheeky little teaspoon added to my oats in the mornings ;)

6. Coconut Oil Spray: Love this! And do all my cooking using this spray. Oils such as olive oil and coconut oil are pretty calorie dense and we can run away with ourselves when pouring it into the pan so this saves on using lots of extra calories. Quick little spray and off you go!

7. Rice Cakes: As mentioned above, consumed on the daily with peanut butter and banana :) Love this snack, super handy, tasty and convenient.

8. Jarrah Hot Choc: Fancy a little chocolate treat? I turn to my Jarrah Hot Choc! Definitely something I'll be getting back into when the Winter months come around. Perfect after dinner at night when I fancy something a little sweet and a nice low cal treat at 46 calories per serve. This was always a go too when I was preparing for competitions :)

9. Snack Size Popcorn: I really love these little snack size packs of popcorn. I'm a popcorn fan so these are a great addition to my panty :) Handy snack to grab if I am on the road or a little time poor. And a very satisfying 100 calorie snack.

10. Fibre One Bar: Yes, I am human too and do love something sweet with my coffee so that's where these come in :) I really like the Salted Caramel flavour ones! Nice with a cup of tea / coffee or even added in with a dessert!

These are very simple, basic, handy and convenient items that are always in my cupboard. My attitude towards nutrition is very balanced.. I like good, whole foods but I also like those little treats too! I really do have the 80 / 20 approach.. And I encourage my clients to have this attitude also. 80% good, 20% treats. I think this mentality and attitude has certainly contributed to both my and my clients consistency with Nutrition.

These are just some samples of the regular items that make their way into my shopping trolley. I will run through some further items soon :)

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you enjoyed this blog entry and maybe got some ideas for some new additions to your kitchen cupboard.
