Afternoon slump - I want chocolate!!!!

Hitting that wall at 3 pm and not sure how to get over it? You are resisting that urge to hit up the work place vending machine and pick yourself up a Dairy Milk! That afternoon sugar craving is still lingering so you just end up going to the vending machine anyways and getting that Dairy Milk..... 

Well, today, I have got something for you that is going to stop that trip to the vending machine!

I too do suffer with that 3pm slump.. I am up from just before 4.30am every morning for early morning classes and spend a lot of the afternoon on the computer so come 3pm I hit a bit of wall! I need that energy kick as I head back to work for the evening so today I put this little concoction to the test and it hasn't failed to disappoint.. Plus, it is an amazing cool drink for this HOT Brisbane weather! 

Ingredients

- Handful of Ice Cubes

- Half a cup of Almond Milk

- Cup of Water

- 2 teaspoons of instant coffee (or 1, whatever your preference)

- Half a scoop of Chocolate Whey Protein 

- 2 teaspoons of coconut oil

- 1 teaspoon of honey (optional) 

Throw it all into a blender and TADA! You have got the most perfect afternoon 'Pick Me Up'!

PS, in reference to the addition of coconut oil, according to studies, many triathletes use coconut oil as one of their source of fuels during training and endurance events so this could just kick you into action for your afternoon training session also ;)
