I didn't come this far to only come this far.....

Have you been there before? You've put lots of work in and come far in terms of work but you just aren't seeing the results or effort you are putting in coming to fruition quick enough?

I have. Just these last few weeks.

Why? Why have I been feeling like this?

I'm 8 weeks into Prep for my Comp in Boston in November and I've 8 weeks to go.

I've been doing everything by the book. Following my training and nutrition down to a T but the progress is slow.. I'm putting the effort in but the results and progress is coming but a lot slower than it has done in the past.

This can be quite disheartening. Your mind plays tricks on you. You doubt yourself. You wonder is it worth it. Why am I doing this? I should of been better in my offseason... And it goes on.

That's pretty much how I've been feeling this last week especially.

I'm writing this today because I know some of you can also relate. You are working bloody hard. Putting effort in. Dedication. Discipline. But things just aren't moving as quick as you like.

It's these times that are challenging and testing. This is when people give up or throw the towel in. And I'm not specifically just talking about a weight loss or fitness journey / goal. This refers to all aspects of life!

I had a check in with my coach this morning and she agreed / confirmed that yes, my progress thus far is a little slower than it was during our prep phase last year. My body just isn't being as responsive and the fat isn't dropping as quick as it has done before. This can be unsettling, especially when we are only 8 weeks away from competition.

BUT, it can only be unsettling if I let it be. These things can only be unsettling if WE allow them to be.

Mentality is key here! What's your why?

Mindset and being mentally 'fit' is of utmost importance during times like this.

We've got a new plan of action. A few tweaks and I know we'll be back on track!

At the end of the day, I didn't come this far to only come this far...

Be your best! Put in your best! Take the little knocks but then dust yourself off and get back up again.

Life is full of curveballs, challenges, hurdles. It's how we deal with them that is hugely important!

I've got myself mentally prepared for the next 8 weeks which I know are going to challenging. It's my outlook on this whole journey that is going to get me to reaching that goal that I have.

Are you ready to get back up and tackle yours head on too?

Remember, you didn't come this far to only come this far.....
